Dr. Hmun Uk

Dr. Hmun Uk grew up in a Christian family and received God’s call for ministry in 1990. He joined bible school that year to better equip himself with biblical truths and understanding. After He finished his Master of Divinity in the field of Missions, He became a lecturer, teacher, and the Academic Dean at Myanmar Center for Theological School for five years. He planted and became the senior pastor of a church in Yangon city named Evangel Open Church which has grown and has been a blessing within the city. With a larger vision and desire to equip and train Christian leaders, he went back to school to gain more biblical knowledge and experiences. He studied his Master of Theology in the Philippines and continued there until he obtained a Doctorate of Ministry degree.
In 2013, He started working in the outskirts of Lashio city to train and equip indigenous leaders in Myanmar. Together, with his wife, have started Myanmar Evangelical School of Ministry and established Southern Asia Tribal Outreach’s presence in Shan State, Myanmar. He has stated that,
“My heart has always been for missions and the desire to train indigenous leaders has not faded since I received the call to the Ministry. I believe that God has been preparing me with all those experiences.
Mrs. Tial Ruang Sisilia
Assistant to the General Coordinator of SATO, Myanmar
Sisilia’s heart desire has always been to serve the Lord as a Missionary. After marriage, she felt that God was calling and preparing her and her family for mission work in unreached areas. In 2011, she studied and received her Bachelor of Theology degree. While she enjoyed serving the church she helped plant, Sisilia never forgot and held onto her vision to be involved in the field of mission.
In 2013, after looking over her journal writings, she saw that in 1997 she had written and prayed:
“one day help me to go to Shan state as my Mission field and establish a mission Training school”
Although she wrote it in 1997, she had forgotten that was the area of Myanmar the Lord was calling her to. In 2013, God sent her with her vision to Shan State. From that point, she went to Lashio in Shan State to co-start a mission school that God spoke to her years before. She is assisting her husband as a teacher and office assistant
